Onion Pakoras/kanda Bhaji/Bhoje

A very popular street food in Goa,tasty and addictive.The onion pakoras known as bhoje in Goa,there are many variations to it but I am sharing my variation as to how I prepare it for my family, it’s a simple and quick recipe which brings out lots of flavours.



Ingredients:

👉2 cups gram flour

👉6 medium onions finely sliced

👉1 tsp red chilly powder

👉1 tsp cumin seeds

👉1/4 tsp Baking soda

👉1/2 tsp turmeric powder

👉1tsp carom seeds

👉1/2 tsp salt

👉3 Green chillies finely chopped

👉1cup finely chopped fresh coriander leaves

👉A litre of Oil for deep frying.


Method:

👉In a bowl sieve the gram flour, to that add salt, carom seeds,cumin seeds,turmeric,red chilly powder and baking soda, mix this all up. To this add 1/2 cup water mix it well and keep it aside.


👉In another bowl add sliced onions,finely chopped green chillies and finely chopped fresh coriander leaves. mix this all up together.


👉Add the above mixture to the gram flour batter combine everything together and check for consistency, if you need more water add a little water.


👉Heat up deep frying pan, add in oil, when the oil is hot scoop up some batter in a level tsp into the hot oil on a medium heat fry the pakoras until golden brown.place it on plate with paper towel.



👉Serve Hot with your favourite kind of sauce and a Hot masala chai.
