Mutton curry

Mutton curry is a dish prepared with Goat meat and is found in different variations across all states and countries, it helps to build up a strong immune system.

Delicious, soft tender,meat on bones cooked in Indian style with few spices and with onion tomato gravy.


Ingredients :

1 kg mutton meat on bones

2 large onions(grated)

1/2 tin tomatoes or 2 tomatoes

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

2 tbsp oil

1 tbsp ghee

salt to taste


Powdered spices:

1 tbsp Coriander powder

1 tsp red chilly powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1tsp garam masala

1 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp chat masala


whole spices:

5 cardamon

7 cloves

1/2 tsp funnel seeds crushed

1 tsp cumin seeds

15 black pepper corns



Method:

👉Wash the mutton under the water, drain the water and season with salt keep aside.


👉In a pot on a medium flame add 2 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp ghee add in whole spices let it splatter.



👉Add in grated onions sauté it for some time than add in tomatoes sauté it

now add in ginger garlic paste sauté for a while till the raw smell of ginger goes away.



👉Add in all powdered spices sauté for a while now add in the mutton pieces, combined all the mixture of the spices to the mutton ,fry it for 3mins on a high flame.



👉Now add in 1cup of hot water to the pot ,stir to mix well, simmer the heat, and cover the pot.Cook till the mutton is tender. You will need to keep checking on the mutton as it cooks and adding more water if all the water dries up. Stir often to prevent burning. The dish should have a fairly thick gravy when done.


👉When the meat is cooked, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with hot chapatis (Indian flatbread), naan (tandoor-baked Indian flatbread), or steamed rice. Enjoy.
