Methiyachi pez/Rice fenugreek porridge

A healthy rice and fenugreek porridge. Fenugreek seeds are rich source of vitamin B.

It helps in alleviate menstrual cramps, relieve body aches and pains.Methi(fenugreek seeds)helps to heal the body in new mothers. My niece delivered a baby so made this porridge for her. It helps to increase breastmilk in lactating mothers and hence consumed regularly by women post delivery.



Ingredients:

👉1 cup parboiled rice

👉2 1/2 cups water

👉2 tbsps methi seeds(fenugreek seeds)

👉2 cups coconut milk

👉1 cup jaggery(palm/cane)

👉1/2 tsp cardamon powder

👉1/2 tsp salt


Method:

👉Soak the methi seeds with little water for 6 hrs.

👉Clean and wash the rice with enough water.keep it aside.


👉Take a pressure cooker on a medium heat put the washed rice in the cooker with 2 1/2 cups of water and the soaked methi seeds with little salt. pressure cook it for 10 mins or 4 whistles. Turn off the gas and let it cool down when the pressure is released open the lid, the rice should be soft.




👉When the rice is soft and mushy its done then add in jaggery stir it well till the jaggery melts then add the coconut milk give it a good stir and last add cardamon powder.

The rice and fenugreek porridge is ready to serve. Do try this recipe and enjoy the health benefits.
