Hariyali chicken

Hariyali chicken which is also called the green chicken,Hariyali means greenery, this Indian dish is very tasty and is cooked in green gravy of coriander leaves, mint leaves and green chillies, Do try this recipe if you want to taste something new.

Ingredients:

👉1 kg chicken on bones

👉5 tbsp yogurt

👉1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

👉1 tsp salt to taste

👉1 cup coriander leaves

👉3 medium fried onions

👉1 cup mint leaves

👉4 green chillies

👉1/2 turmeric powder

👉10 almonds(soaked for 1/2 hour)

👉1 tbsp coriander powder

👉1 tsp cumin powder

👉1 tsp Garam masala

👉4 to 5 cardamons

👉3 to 4 cloves

👉2 bay leaves

👉1”stick cinnamon

👉2 tbsp oil


Method:

👉In a blender grind to paste coriander leaves,fried onions,green chillies,mint leaves,turmeric powder and almonds with 2 tbsp water when done remove it in a bowl and keep it aside.


👉Wash the chicken apply salt,ginger garlic paste,yogurt and the ground paste let it marinate for an 1 hour.


👉Heat up a pot add in oil when hot add in cardamon,cinnamon,cloves and bay leaves let it splatter.


👉Now add in the marinated chicken on high heat with the lid open let the chicken get infused with all the marinated spices stir it and cook it for 5mins.


👉At this stage add in cumin powder,coriander powder,black pepper powder and garam masala ,salt to taste,If the gravy is thick add in 1 cup of water


👉Now close the lid and on a slow fire let it cook for 10 mins,cook till the oil seperates


👉When it’s done remove it in the serving bowl sprinkle some fried onions on top,

serve it steamed rice, ghee rice,jeera rice,roti or naan.
