One of the most liked masala in Goan homes, every Goan household has its own version of green masala, some add onions, some add coriander, some add vinegar, I am sharing my version of green masala which I learnt from my mom, which can be used for a variety of dishes
Ingredients:
15 green chillies
10 cloves of garlic
1 1/2 “ginger
1 tsp poppy seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
15 peppercorns
1 ball of tamrind
12 cloves
1” cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
Method:
👉Grind all the above ingredients in a blender with little water to a fine paste
👉Once done grinding, remove the masala paste in a bowl and add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder to it. I dint add the turmeric powder while grinding cause its gives a nice colour when you add later
👉Store this paste in a jar in the fridge...you need to store this masala in the fridge as I dint add vinegar to it, you can add vinegar when you make meat dishes...
👉Use whenever necessary for meats or fish
