Goan Chicken xacuti

My favourite chicken xacuti curry is a roasted coconut-based curry where the coconut is roasted with some spices which makes the curry.thick, flavourful and aromatic, Its consistency can be altered as desired and it can be served with rice, breads and rotis.


INGREDIENTS:

600 grams Chicken on bones

3tbsp coconut oil

1 cups Fresh coconut/desicated coconut

8 cloves of Garlic

2 medium Onions

1 medium tomato

Fresh coriander leaves(optional)

1 squeeze of a lime

1 lime size Tamarind(soaked in water)


DRY ROAST

8 Kashmir chillies

2 tbsp Coriander seeds

1/2 tsp Fennel seeds

1/2 tsp Cumin seeds

1/2 tsp black peppercorns

6 cloves

1 inch cinnamon

2 tsp Poppy seeds

1 Star anise

2 Green cardamon


Method

👉Wash the chicken add 1 lime to it and salt to taste and keep it aside.

it. Remove it and let it cool down.

👉In the same Frying pan add 1tsp coconut oil and fry Onion, garlic fry until it changes its color. Then add the grated coconut till it turns golden brown, let it cool for some time.

👉Blend all the roasted spices in

the blender using little water. grind it into fine paste.remove it in a bowl set it aside.

👉Heat up a pot add 2tbsp coconut oil,add the chopped onions fry until translucent than add the chopped tomato and the ground masala to it,fry it for a while.

👉Now add the chicken,cook it on a high flame till the paste coats the chicken for 3 minutes.

👉Lower the heat,add required water and then add the tamarind pulp and close the lid and let the chicken cook in the flavourful xacuti spices for 15 mins or until nice and tender.

👉last add the fresh coriander leaves and it's ready to eat.

👉you can also add diced potatoes if you like,I dint have that's why I dint add.

👉Enjoy it rice,pulao,bread,rotis.
