Dalmatki/moth beans curry

A very easy to make and tastes very delicious dal matki/moth beans. Moth beans is a rich source of proteins, vitamins and minerals. It looks very similar to moong beans but its brown in colour and smaller in size.I have kept the recipe very simple, do try this delicious beans curry.



Ingredients:

👉1 cup moth beans

👉1 large chopped onion

👉1 large tomato

👉2 tbsp ghee

👉1 pinch asafoetida

👉6 to 7 curry leaves

👉1 tsp cumin seeds

👉1/2 tsp mustard seeds

👉3 slited green chillies

👉1 1/2 tsp coriander powder

👉1/2 tsp turmeric powder

👉1/2 tsp red chilly powder

👉1/2 tsp Garam masala

👉1/2 tsp chaat masala

👉handful fresh coriander leaves


Method:

👉Wash the beans twice under running water and Soak the beans in water overnight or for 5 hours.



👉Next day pressure cook the beans with 2 cups of water ,salt and turmeric powder.


👉Pressure cook it with two whistles keep it aside ,let it cool down.


👉To a hot pot on a medium heat add ghee,add in mustard seeds, curry leaves asafoetida and cumin seeds let their fragrance come out.


👉Now add in onions let it become translucent then add in green chillies and the tomatoes saute it for 10 seconds.


👉Now add in red chilly powder ,coriander powder,Garam masala and give it a stir.



👉Now add the cooked beans, little water, salt to taste, stir it well and let it simmer for 5 mins.


👉Last add the chat masala and finish it off with fresh coriander leaves and the dal is ready to serve.


👉Have it with rice ,chapatis ,naan ,it tastes very delicious.
