Clams xacuti

Tisreo curry or clams curry is a coconut base curry, grated coconut is lightly roasted, along with the bold spices, ground together to make a paste and added to the clams to form a delicious curry.This curry is liked by all in my house.I often prepare it when I get clams. I have used packet clams from the store.


Ingridents:

👉500gms clams

👉2 tbsp oil

👉1 large chopped onion

👉1cup plum tomato

👉1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

👉2 tbsp tamarind(soaked in water use the pulp)

👉5 to 6 curry leaves


Roast and grind to paste

👉1 tsp fennel seeds

👉1 tsp poppy seeds

👉2 tbsp coriander seeds

👉1star anise

👉1/2 tsp black pepper powder

👉1/2 tsp cumin powder

👉5 red chillies

👉1 cup coconut grated

👉1/4 tsp mustard seeds

👉6 to 7 cloves

👉1"cinnamon

👉1/2 mace

👉2 green cardamom

👉1 black cardomon

👉1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds

Method

👉Roast the above mentioned ingredients on medium flame in a frying pan for about 5 mins.

👉roast the spices first, last roast the coconut

when the roasted ingredients are cool down grind it to a paste with little water and add tamrind to it.



👉Take a large bowl put the clams and wash it with water drain the water and add some salt to it keep it aside.

👉Heat up a pot add 2 tbsp oil when the oil is hot add curry leaves to it let it splatter now add the chopped onion when onions are translucent add the ginger garlic paste saute for a while till the raw smell of the ginger garlic goes.


👉Now add the tomatoes to the fried onions saute for 3mins now add the seasoned clams cover it let it cook for 3mis on medium heat.

👉Open the lid now add the ground masala to the cooked clams and give it a good stir.

👉Add some salt to it check the consistency add 1cup of water, cover it and let it cook for 15mins on slow fire.

👉Clams xacuti is ready to eat, have it with steamed rice, pulao, bread, chapatis,rotis.
