Clams Pulao in coconut Milk

Clams pulao is delicious and flavourful rice.The rice is cooked with clams and coconut milk and seasoned with whole spices.This dish is complete on its own you don't need a side dish to go with the pulao.The most tasty dish which is very much enjoyed by us goans.


Ingredients:

๐Ÿ‘‰1 cup clams without shells

๐Ÿ‘‰2 medium chopped onions

๐Ÿ‘‰1 medium tomatoes

๐Ÿ‘‰1 inch ginger

๐Ÿ‘‰5 garlic cloves

๐Ÿ‘‰2 green chillies

๐Ÿ‘‰1/2 tsp turmeric powder

๐Ÿ‘‰1 inch Cinnamon sticks

๐Ÿ‘‰4 cardamon pods

๐Ÿ‘‰1 star anise

๐Ÿ‘‰1 black cardamon

๐Ÿ‘‰6 to 7 cloves

๐Ÿ‘‰10 pepper corns

๐Ÿ‘‰1 cup coconut milk

๐Ÿ‘‰2 1/2 cup basmati rice

๐Ÿ‘‰4 cups water


Method:

๐Ÿ‘‰Soak the rice with water for half hour.

๐Ÿ‘‰wash the clams under running water twice or thrice. When done remove it in a bowl add some salt set aside.

๐Ÿ‘‰In a blender add in green chillies,ginger and garlic make a fine paste keep it aside.

๐Ÿ‘‰In a pot add in oil add in cardamon, cinnamon, pepper corns, star anise,cloves let it splatter and give a good aroma.


๐Ÿ‘‰Now add in the ground chill,ginger,garlic paste to the pot let it fry for 2 mins till the raw smell of the paste goes away.

๐Ÿ‘‰Now add in the seasoned clams let it fry for 3 mins.

๐Ÿ‘‰Now add in onions let it be translucent then add in tomatoes let it be mushy.

๐Ÿ‘‰Then add in 4 cups of boiled water add in 1 tsp salt now add in the soaked and drained rice give it a stir, then add in 1 cup coconut milk add in 2 slited green chillies and handful of finely chopped coriander leaves

๐Ÿ‘‰Cover the pot with the lid and let it cook until all water evaporates give it a stir once done and your clams pulao is ready to eat.
