Chilly Chicken

My mother’s signature dish “The chilly chicken”. This dish is all time favourite of my brother’s and mine and now it is of my children. In my childhood when my mom had a day off,chilly chicken with rice or pulao or fried rice was prepared,we would just wait for mom’s day off to eat this delicious dish. She used make this for feast and birthday’s and I think most of my relatives got this recipe from her. And many of them tried even But nothing beats my mom’s chilly chicken. So today my husband said it’s become like mom’s chilly chicken so taught of sharing the recipe, was told many times on the phone how to make it, at-last I made it,yayy

Here goes the recipe

Ingredients:

👉1 kg chicken

👉4 tbsp cornflour

👉6 tbsp soya sauce

👉1 1/2 tbsp sugar

👉10 Green chillies( take the long light green ones)

👉6 cloves of garlic

👉Salt to taste

Method:

👉Wash the chicken,Season with salt and it keep aside

👉In a bowl pour soya,sugar and cornflour whisk it altogether nice and smooth


👉Pour this mixture to the seasoned chicken let it marinate for 2 hours.


👉Heat up a pot on a medium fire add oil

When it is hot add chopped garlic and green chillies let the chillies get fried till you get a nice aroma


👉Remove it in a plate and keep it aside


👉On a slow fire In the same oil add the marinated chicken and add 1 cup water


👉Let it cook for 15mins on slow fire,lastly add the fried chillies and the garlic,keep some garnishing and mix it well

👉And it’s ready to eat


👉Serve with fried rice or pulao or plain rice.
