Chicken Angara

A spicy chicken angara curry made by using freshly ground masala powder. It is spicy and smoky in taste, just like a fireball, hence the name.The flavors of this curry can make anyone hungry. So do try and make it.


1 Kg chicken on bones (cut into medium pieces)

Dry roast

👉1/2 tsp coriander seeds

👉1/2 tsp black peppercorns

👉1/2 tsp cumin seeds

👉1”cinnamon stick

👉4 cardomon

👉6 cloves

👉4 red dry Chilles


👉Take a pan and dry roast the above spices until it leaves a nice fragrance

👉Grind the above spice to a powder


👉In big bowl season the chicken with salt

And add 2 tbsp of the ground spice mix


👉Add in 1/2 cup of yogurt

👉1 tbsp Garam masala

👉1 tsp red chilly powder

👉1/2 tsp turmeric powder

👉2 tbsp fried onion( onion chopped n fried)

👉1/2 tsp turmeric powder

👉1 tbsp ginger garlic paste


👉Combine all this together and marinate for 1/2 hour.


👉Heat up a pot heat,add 1tbsp oil

And 1 large chopped onion sauté for a while.


👉Now add 2 chopped tomatoes sauté it for a while.


👉Now add the marinated chicken and

Add 1/2 cup water ,cover it and cook it on a slow fire for 15 to 20 min.


👉Heat up a piece of coal on a direct flame till hot,add the burnt coal in a small bowl or a plate and place the plate in the centre of the pot.


👉Pour in 1/2 tsp ghee on the hot coal


👉Cover the pot for 5 min till all the smoke of the coal gets infused with the chicken


👉Remove the cover and the plate with the coal and mix well the chicken


👉Garnish with fresh coriander leaves


👉Serve hot with parathas
