Butter chicken one of the popular Indian curries in any restaurant around the world. it originates from northern India.Incredibly creamy and flavourful prepared in buttery gravy and adding to it the cream makes the texture more smoother. This mild curry has tender chunks of chicken simmered in creamy sauce.
Ingredients:
👉250 gms Chicken breast boneless
👉1 tsp red chilli powder
👉1 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder
👉2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
👉1 medium chopped onion
👉1 large chopped tomato
👉7 to 8 almonds or cashew nuts
👉1/2 tsp garam masala
👉1 tsp kasuri methi
👉3 tbsp butter
👉1 tbsp oil
👉2 tbsp cream
👉1 tbsp vinegar
👉1 burnt charcoal(for Smoke aroma for the chicken)optional
👉salt to taste
Method:
👉Wash the chicken breasts and dice it into cubes then marinate the chicken with salt,red chilli powder and ginger garlic paste and set it aside for 30 mins.
👉Heat up a frying pan add in 2 tbsp of butter ,add the marinated chicken and fry it on a high flame for 5 mins when it is cooked turn the heat off and put a small silver foil in the centre of the frying pan just in the middle of the fried chicken pieces put hot burnt charcoal on the foil and add little oil to it so that it smokes the chicken and gives a tandoori flavour cover the lid so that the aroma of smoke comes for the chicken, when done throw the charcoal away and remove the chicken pieces in a plate and set it aside.
👉In the same pan add in little oil and fry the chopped onions give it a stir add in chopped tomatoes add in almonds ,add in ginger garlic paste mix everything well now add in Garam masala ,Kashmiri chilli powder,vinegar, salt and some water let it cook for 3 mins.turn off the gas let the gravy cool down now add this to a blender and blend it into a smooth puree and strain it with a strainer straight into a cooking pot.
👉Heat up the same pot on a medium heat add in the kasuri methi,1tbsp butter and the cooked chicken to it last add the cream to it. butter chicken is ready to be served.
It tastes delicious on Roti,naan,rice.
👉Butter chicken tastes better the next day as with time the flavour develops more.
so let it cool completely, refrigerate and enjoy it the next day.
