Apple toffee with ice cream

Toffee is a classic Chinese desert,Crunchy sticky toffee which makes them perfect for enjoying at any time of the year, you could try this recipe with other fruits like bananas or pineapples,I have made this with apples, wedges of apples are battered deep fried than coated in toffee and sesame seeds which makes the dish deliciously and crisp.



Ingredients:

👉2 apples(cut into wedges)

👉1 cup plain flour

👉1/4 tsp baking powder

👉water(for smooth consistency)

👉ice water

👉1/2 tsp sesame seeds

👉1/2 cup sugar

👉1/2 litre oil for deep frying

👉A pinch of salt


👉Take a bowl add plain flour to it add a pinch of salt ,add some water whisk everything together well until smooth, we need a smooth consistency add 1/4 tsp baking powder let it rest for 10 mins.



👉In a pan add sugar add 1tbsp of water let the sugar melt and caramelised keep it aside.


👉Heat up a deep frying pan add 1/2 litre oil keep it on a medium heat.


👉In a bowl add some water add some ice to it keep it aside.


👉Wash and cut the apples into wedges. dip each apple wedge into the batter and put it into the hot frying pan deep fry it for 2mins till golden brown.



👉 Remove it from the hot oil and add it to the hot caramelised sugar, coat each batter fried apple into the sugar just coat it do not cook it.



👉After coating it then drop it into the ice cold water to set the caramel and drain it immediately.


👉Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.leave the toffee to cool before eating


👉Best served with ice cream
